Are you going to the gym 5-6 times per week and spending hours there? Have you been told that you need to do 40 minutes of cardio daily to burn 100+ calories, plus weight train? Yes, ideally you would need to do all that depending on your weight and muscle mass but what your trainers aren't showing you it HIIT. Most trainers aren't trained in HIIT or simply don't show you because they would lose clients because this type of workout can be done in the gym or at home. But wait there is a lot more to it besides convenience, it has a significant impact on your overall health too.
So wouldn't you love to perform shorter workouts and benefit your health overall? I will list some of the health benefits in this post. I do not get paid to write about HIIT and I am not a HIIT instructor. I'm simply a person that wants to help others. High-Intensity Interval Training helps the body by stimulating autophagy. Many may say well what it that and how does that help your body? "Autophagy is a bodily response to stress, and high-intensity exercise puts you in the good-stress sweet spot because it stresses you just enough to provoke biochemical change." In English words, Autophagy is a method your body uses to clean out toxins and damaged cells. This is extremely important for your body and performing HIIT enhances this method.
There are a few other methods that aren't as important but beneficial to your health. Those are; increasing your metabolism and helping you to lose fat, helps you gain lean muscle, improves oxygen consumption, help reduce blood pressure/heart rate, and can help reduce blood sugar. Now, there are many other benefits to HIIT I just gave you the ones I thought were the best benefits. HIIT training can be for all ages and all weights. All it takes is 15-30 mins per day 4-5 times per week. You can even do it less and it will still be very effective.
I started HIIT training shortly after having my son. I was 60 pounds overweight, barely could run a mile and forget about anything more intense. But what I did was, find trainers on youtube that did beginners HIIT. From there, I increased the intensity of the workout slowly. It took a few weeks to get the hang of things but I never stopped and never looked back. I lost 60 pounds in 4 months and gained lean muscle. Yes, life has its moments and during certain times of the year, it was hard to focus but as long as I got in at least 3 days per week I never gained the weight back and felt great most of the time. If I can do it with Lyme Disease and Autonomic Dysfunction and 60 pounds overweight, anybody can do this.!!
