Why drinking organic wine is best!

Organic wine is a much better quality wine over non-organic wine. Organic wine means the grapes or berries were grown without artificial chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides. If you're eating an organic diet then you pretty much understand what this means and why it is so important to the body. That being said not all organic wines are low or contain no added sulfites. Sulfites are just as bad for your body as pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides. So if your drinking organic wine, that's great but know that it doesn't mean there are no sulfites added, unless your drinking wine made in the US or other countries that follow the same guidelines.

Different countries have different regulations on sulfites. Not all countries consider sulfites to be a preservative when following the organic regulations. The few countries that you can trust and not do so much research on are New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States. Now that being said there are other fabulous wines from different countries that can be trusted also, I will list those at the bottom of the blog. If you are buying organic wine make sure your buying from those countries listed or the brands that I will list below. I have done the research and know the best brands that you should trust. Not only are they trusted but the wines also taste amazing and won’t leave you feeling like crap after a couple glasses.

The reason so many vineyards use the “non-organic” ways of growing their fruits is that it’s far quicker and they lose fewer fruits per batch. Whereas organic companies have a bigger chance of losing everything. There is nothing protecting their vineyards from bugs or animals. A lot of Vineyards also use the sulfites to protect their wine once the fruit is broken down and aged. The companies that are not using preservatives like sulfites are companies that want you to truly taste their fruits and quickly. Organic wine and sulfites free wine is meant to drink non-aged and once bottle is opened you should drink it in 24 hours to get the best quality taste. If not drank in 24 hours, refrigerating the wine would help keep it fresh for 3-5 days. Were as conventional wine could be kept out of the fridge and corked up to 7 days and most likely taste the same as it did when first opened.

The sulfites in the wine will keep it fresh longer just like preservatives to food. That is why winemakers use the sulfites in the wine and to change the taste slightly. When fermenting wine, the grapes produce sulfites naturally to protect themselves but non-organic wine or even some organic wines have sulfites added even after the grapes or berries have been a process to avoid their wine from spoiling. When in doubt buy organic wine, sulfite-free or no sulfites added but we as humans get enough toxins poured into our body. Especially, buy this type of wine if you're living an organic lifestyle. If you're eating organic food and drink bad wine, your kind of defeating the purpose of your organic lifestyle.
