The ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3

Why are the American people eating so much Omega 6 and not enough Omega 3? Well, its real simple, most foods consumed now are high in Omega 6 and have no Omega 3 in it. The Omega 6 foods that are consumed the most in the American diet are Corn Oil, Soy and Sunflower Oil. Those oils are in just about all “unhealthy” foods, especially Corn Oil. Corn Oil is used in most snacks, most drinks, and any packaged food items. The average person is most likely consuming this ingredient daily and not realizing the amount of BAD Omega 6's they are digesting. Corn Oil is considered to be a Trans Fat according to NCBI, and rates as high as vegetable oil when testing in cooking.


According to Dr. William Sears, the average American is consuming a 10:1 ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 or higher. And according to bulletproof.com, Americans are consuming 12:1 to 25:1 omega 6 to omega 3 which is even higher than ASKdrSears.com states. The proper ratio is actually 2:1 ratio according to Dr. William Sears. The question is, does the average American know that they should be eating far less OMEGA 6, the answer is no, of course not. The average person is not going to do the research on why it is bad for them or how much we should intake. The average person will believe all the marketing schemes out there telling you the complete opposite. Even my own family who has several health coaches in the family, still believe the none stop marketing. It's hard not to believe when you are constantly seeing it on TV or marketing boards. We Americans are killing ourselves and its time to stop. Over consuming Omega 6 is critical to your health, especially if that omega 6 isn't real. Intaking Omega 6 from trans fat oils do more harm than good.


When trans fat are consumed frequently, it causes a chain reaction which then ends in FREE RADICALS. That causes tissue damage, cell damage, diseases, and even cancer. The cells in your body can repair itself but if it's constantly exposed to states. The proper ratio is actually 2:1 ratio according to Dr. William Sears. The question is, does the average American know that they should be eating far less OMEGA 6, the answer is no, of course not.
