Children can be LEAN very easily, what it means to be lean is living a healthy life. LEAN defines who you are as a person. Children are easily taught to be a PURE KID. This means living a healthy lifestyle while eating a 90/10 diet. Ninety percent of the time the child eats healthy and the other 10 percent of the time, the child eats foods that are not as healthy. For example; chips, gummies, apple juice and much more. I could go on and on about the unhealthy options but the healthier options would be a lot easier to list. I’ll list those at the end of this blog. Children easily persuade to do things, if they see their parent doing the right things. Children are like copycats, what they see, is what they do. Especially, if they see their parent doing those things. If you live a healthy lifestyle then you should teach your children that same lifestyle.
We as parents sometimes get too involved in the trends of the year and not enough involved in our own children. We as parents need to step up and acknowledge that child follow in our footsteps. So if your child sees bad habits daily, they will soon think those bad habits are normal. Unfortunately, this happens way too often in families and that is why the world is becoming so polluted and filled with negative people. So we are falling into this epidemic, where pollution and negatively are normal. And I don't just mean air pollution, I also mean polluting the body as a whole. If your body is filled with horrible additives and you're constantly polluting it, then how is that body going to do 10 years down the road. The United states crisis is health and if more people follow along in the crisis, who is going to run the country. Who is going to save you from the debt, or health issues? Are you wanted to stay unhealthy and follow along with the people? Or are you wanting to take over your life and your families health? With a healthy lifestyle, you are guaranteed to have a much better outcome not only in your health but your career. It has been proven over and over again that a healthy person thinks more clear and is driven to succeed. Now, of course, there are a few out there that are unhealthy and successful, but how long are they going to live.
They will only last as long as the medications work. But why would you want to live your life on medications and constant doubt? Why do you want to teach your children that its normal to live like that? Be the better people and start changing your lifestyle, so that they copycat you. Don’t you want your child to have the best life they can possibly have? Well if your lifestyle is unhealthy then theirs will be too until they are old enough to start deciding to change their lifestyle. But most likely by then, they will have already developed mental issues, health issues and much more. It will be a lot harder for them to change in teens or twenties if they have never been taught anything else. I’ve living proof of that. I lived in a household that ate everything unhealthy. We lived on pasta, hot dogs, soda, candy and anything that was made with artificial ingredients. I become sick as a teenager and that illness continued throughout my twenties until I decided enough was enough. It took me to be very unhealthy to decide to try to learn how to eat correctly. I was fortunate enough to work for a holistic doctor that helped guide me. But your average person would have just stayed sick and live out there life till they couldn't live anymore.
Let's start teaching our children how to eat and when to eat, instead of living the life you live. My parents grew up in a family that ate the same way, so they didn't know they were doing anything wrong. Now with much-needed research we know that it's unhealthy to live on those foods. Its okay to eat once in a while but definitely not daily. I would say to start out with small changes for your children but for you, as the parent, you need to do a 180 right away, so that your kids start to see the changes in you. Again they will become the copycat and it won't be a hard change. If you live that life, your children will want to be just like you. So just start already, get rid of the artificial ingredients and start eating whole foods again. Below is a list of run snack options for you and your kids.
-Apples with peanut butter to dip in. (get organic peanut butter)
-Celery with sour cream to dip in. (sour cream made with whole milk and no additives)
-Avocado bacon toast(great for a snack or a meal)(used 100% whole grain bread)
-Veggie straws and hummus (organic veggie straws, no man-made oils: Soybean, veggie, corn, palm oil and even sometimes safflower oil)
-Bananas with raw honey or peanut butter(this contains a lot of natural sugar, just use in moderation)
-Celery boats filled with plain Greek yogurt and berries(check dirty dozen list for berries)
-Celery boats filled with canned chicken mixed with Greek yogurt instead of mayo.
-Carrots and hummus to dip in.
-Baked veggie chips ( cut up veggies, lightly poor avocado oil or coconut oil on them and bake them in a form of a chip and kids will think its a chip)
There are many other snack options, try to stick with ones that involve dipping or resemble something they already eat, to help encourage the process. Kids like fun food, once their taste buds adjust the snacks can become less overwhelming. Meaning they will start wanted carrots and not needing that dipping option. Let them even dip into something unhealthy at first if it gets them to start eating that carrot, celery or an apple.
